This innovative bar was constructed from an old local fishing boat that was marooned on a nearby beach. Relocated to the resort it has been restored to serve as a peaceful retreat for those looking for a quiet place to relax with nothing but the soothing sounds of the forests and the beach.
It offers a great place to enjoy a cool drink and a venue where people can relax, talk and watch the ever-changing Langkawi coastline.
Sampan Bar provides a more relaxed atmosphere than the resort's award-winning Seashell Beach Café with just the sounds of nature and the sea as well as some fantastic drinks. Happy hours operate from 6.00 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. with a 20% discount off popular drinks. The Sampan Bar opens daily from 6.00 p.m. until midnight.

Mutiara Burau Bay's Seashell Beach Café is going from strength to strength. What started out as a humble seaside café is now winning national accolades for all its efforts.
In late 2003, Seashells was awarded Malaysia's 'Best Entertainment Outlet' by the prestigious Hospitality Asia Magazine. The restaurant is also listed in Malaysian Tatler as one of 'Malaysia's Best Restaurants'.
The latest addition to Seashell Beach Café is the Bayside Cellars; Langkawi's only walk-in wine cellar. Bayside Cellars features over 120 different wine labels from the world's leading wine regions including France, Germany, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and California. The cellars are air-conditioned to maintain constant temperature to ensure that the wine is maintained in its optimal condition and protected from the tropical climate. Guests can select wines that are either affordable as well as some fine vintage wines that are all very competitively priced due to Langkawi's duty free status. Reference material is available on all the wines and the veranda on the outside of the cellars is the perfect place for guests to sit and relax enjoying their favourite wines.
The Seashell Beach Café serves a variety of thirst quenchers, cocktails, mocktails and delicious Tex Mex cuisine. Guests are entertained by the resident band: 'Martini and the Sea Urchins' that plays popular tunes, golden oldies and contemporary songs as the waves gently wash Burau Bay and the sun sets behind the mountain. Langkawi's award winning entertainment outlet operates from 11 am to 12 midnight and beyond.
